You can release it without that "Final Showdown" cue.
If the cue surfaces some day, you can re-release the score again or maybe just add that cue in another Michael Kamen release. Just like Lukas Kendall did for THE PRIZE on the new POLTERGEIST 2 cds

I would like to buy Road House as complete as it can be released... but if it seems like it won't turn up I would say release it, but I can wait for it.

Have to watch this again, sober - I always have drinks with this
flick (try it, its great fun!) and am usually not too coherent by the end.
I know the cue though, and would buy the album - I have to add, try
and exhaust every avenue (hell, rip it from the DVD rear channel and
add as an extra!), and release it - just hope it doesn't turn up someday
anyway! Also, how LONG is this cue in question anyway? If it's a 1 minute 'hit and run' forget it - if it's a 4-5 min. mini-epic, well......

I can't wait for this either and I'm really excited to hear this news. I'm definitely getting it. If you can't find the Final Confrontation cue is it possible to use one of the film stems. I know it's kinda a desperate thing to use, but I guess that would be your best option other than talking to Edward Shearmur himself who may have knowledge of the score. Maybe Kamen's estate my have backups of it too. Personally, if all else fails I'd prefer trying to look for alternatives that may help the release. I want this score as much as everyone else and I'm sure you guys will turn up something.

If I recall correctly, you expressed some displeasure at the Varese Club issue of Mancini's NIGHTWING which had the same problem.
The climactic cue was missing and not included on the release.

Does Kamen's estate have a copy of the cue housed somewhere?

I also remember that the search for Goldsmith's mastertapes for ALIEN took quite some time to locate and LINK's tapes turned up missing, so you just re-issued the album.

So,
Is ROADHOUSE worth postponing further for a additional research (like ALIEN) or a great incomplete title to issue now (like NIGHTWING)?
I would have to say the latter at this point.

Release it, but sequence the album in a creative way, like Goldsmith's original album for FIRST BLOOD.

Perhaps put the other major action cue - the fistfight between Swayze and Gazarra's henchman - toward the end, so the listening experience is a satisfying one.

If the missing cue turns up someday, the CD can be reissued.

In regards to releasing the score minus the missing cue- I say release it.

I'm such a fan of this score I'd buy it again if a second version was released later on with it.... it's one of my holy grails.

I would prefer to wait a while longer to see if it does show up. How long does a label
have after the papers are signed before they have to produce the CD? We have waited
this long for the release already, what would be another 6-months, 2 years or more be?
With that kind of an action cue missing, would be like a car without tires! I to remember
Doug's feelings about when Nightwing was released, wouldn't this be a similar situation?

I say wait awhile. I am one of those people to very seldom double dip. If it is released, I
would probably wait for the release when the whole thing is presented. Mainly because
the cue that is missing is one of my favorites from the movie!

I'll buy it either way they release it.
