Would anyone else be interested in a soundtrack release for the Canadian animated series The Raccoons? The music, composed by Kevin Gillis and Jon Stroll and performed by the National Arts Centre Orchestra, was pretty good and the show itself is still quite well known and has a cult following, at least in Canada and the UK, so it would definitely have an audience.
I doubt a complete collection of the show's songs will be released anytime soon as the masters are reportedly missing, and even if someone finds them again or locates safety copies/multitracks of the songs then there would probably be rights issues over the singers, as quite a few big names featured on the soundtrack (does Intrada even release 'song soundtracks' or whatever they're called anyway? I know some of their releases have the odd songs on them but I can't think of any that consist of just songs). However the instrumental music could potentially get released as Jon Stroll owns a tape of the complete score for the third special The Raccoons and the Lost Star, as well as additional cues written for the series - this has been confirmed by Jon Stroll himself and a fan of the series who knows him personally (note: a lot of the music from the third special was recycled for the series. The first two specials had their own unique soundtracks but I don’t know whether they’re missing or not as well).
