In this day of many reissues, some albums remain dormant but could really use a remaster. One such album is Cool Hand Luke. The Aleph release is one of the worst sounding soundtrack albums ever, a key example of a victim to the loudness war. The aural manifestation of salty garbage. |

Silent Running needs one more CD release. So silly that Intrada's CD had to be mastered from low quality vinyl, while Varese's more recent vinyl release was sourced from the master tape they hoarded and told Intrada they did not have. |

Danna's Vanity Fair is just ridiculous. What the hell happened there? |

Waxman’s Prince Valiant definitely needs a remaster as technology has advanced enough that the wow-affected cues can be fixed. It surprises me that this was never done in the days before Disney bought Fox. |

I might have mentioned it years ago, but the current album for Elfman's Psycho recording can be borderline dangerous to ears and speakers. The first track lulls you into a false sense of how to dial in the volume, because the next track is extremely loud. That continues throughout the album: quiet restrains followed by tracks artificially pumped to the max. Bam, goodbye hearing! |
