UPDATE: April 18, 2016WROCK RADIO EPISODE #8
EDITORIAL NOTE - This is a great episode. Three scores on the program are now on my Top 10 of 2016.
On episode eight of CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO ON WROCK we will be playing music from four brand new scores. You’ll hear selections from John Debney’s new score to Disney’s reimagining of THE JUNGLE BOOK. You’ll also hear selections from A HOLOGRAM FOR THE KING by Tom Tykwer and Johnny Klimek and music from Chad Cannon’s impressive score to the documentary PAPER LANTERNS. And our video game score of the week is Austin Wintory’s brand new score to THE BANNER SAGA 2.
Our John Williams album of the week comes from INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE released in 1989. Our Golden Age score of the week is Leigh Harline’s 1954 western score to BROKEN LANCE. Our re-recording of the week is dedicated to the late, great Michael Kamen, whose 68th birthday would have been on April 15th. We’ll be playing selections from his compilation album MICHAEL KAMEN's OPUS.
And we’ll end the program with our end title suite featuring the music from THE HOWLING by Pino Donaggio, TOY SOLDIERS by Robert Folk and EXCALIBUR by Trevor Jones.
