I think back then Beck was occassionally working with Beltrami. They both worked on a TV series together. I'm surprised we didn't get a deluxe "My Demon Lover"; compelte score, alternates, a book on the making, the kitchen sink, a CD of arrangments of the main theme, etc.  The Herrmann is the gem here. |

Well, I received my Varese orders yesterday and I was all excited!! I ordered The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and the Goldsmith DVD/CD set! I had to put the Goldsmith concert CD in just to see how the orchestra sounded and wow!!! If anyone else purchased this, listen carefully to the french horns in the first measures and throughout the Star Trek: First Contact End Title (cue one). French Horn is one of the instruments I play and I know how hard it is to play, especially when you are playing a Goldsmith piece! Sorry, I know I will get slammed to knocking this, but this is now recorded for all to hear! Aughhhhhhh! I am now listening to The Swarm : End Title! This is one of my most favorite end titles that Goldsmith did, sorry you just have to listen to it, to many instrument clammers! Everything seems to need a faster tempo, which would be closer to the originals. After watching the DVD, it did improve my feelings about the release. It is a live performance! |
