In the golden age of film music the Oscars hadn't quite managed to make such an ass out of themselves.[/quote] I think when somebody extends an award to you that it would be the height of bad manners and taste to decline appearing for it, and even worse to deride it. Let's take this for what it is. In a sense, these awards are given because of the continued oversight of recognition to an exceptional body of work, much like Cary Grant's honorary oscar in 1970. |
