I'm very happy, I love THE FORMULA! I've had the lp for years, it'll be nice to have it in digital stereo. I've said this on FSM, but the lp has the MGM lion roar at the beginning, I wonder if the cd will too?

Okay! A GATHERING OF EAGLES at last! Yep, my first passion with Goldsmith, when I was just a kid. Finally, to hear that main title without the B-52 engines roaring through it... I've certainly heard 'em before having been raised in the Air Force so (with apologies to any other USAF pilots) it's about time to silence those jets and hear what Jerry wrote!!!

As for RC, sure they do some stuff most people wouldn't buy, but they also have some great scores too. It all depends on your taste. And that is what I'm saying, just because it's by a certain composer, whether he's Goldsmith or not, it doesn't mean you have to blindly shell out. Life goes on.

That is fine. It will leave an extra copy for someone who appreciates a good score.
I do not hang on every note of Goldsmith, but I know there has been no other composer
like him. Goldsmith has written some bummer scores, but to me there have been very few.
I guess it is like Jerry Fielding, I have never gotten into any of his music. I have tried, but it
just does nothing for me. But, there are people who love everything Fielding has written.
Now, Elmer Bernstein is a flip-flopper to me. I either like his scores or I hate them. Usually
his jazz (older) scores I pass on and I buy all of his big orchestral scores.

Oh, well, I am not trying to push you into buying something you have no interest in, but we
lost Goldsmith years ago and it is nice to actually get new Goldsmith, it keeps him alive,
because he has been missed.
