Despite the film’s iconic status, there hasn’t been an official (excluding a Cd included with the German 4K release of the film, which was described as having bootleg-esc quality) soundtrack release of Elmer Bernstein’s score to the film An American Werewolf In London. While the total run time comes out to about 7 minutes of music I believe, it’s still a fantastic and memorable effort by Bernstein. From the hauntingly beautiful piano bit and Jack and David near the East Proctor, or the ominous music as the deceased Jack warns David of what’s to come, the score is just as memorable and important as Rick Baker’s stunning effects. Perhaps, if this score was released it could include the various moon themed songs to help extend the run time a tad bit, as-well as some of the covers that were featured on the original MECO “impressions” soundtrack for the film.
