Post subject:  MARNIE by Bernard Herrmann [Original Tracks]

It seems once again the record industry forgets that there is still a constituency for the humble CD (soon to celebrate its 40th birthday), that if listeners aren't streaming then they only want music in the physical format of vinyl. However there has been a recent bizarre variation on this: a very obscure English label called Stylotone believes that there is a market for its so called Super Deluxe Editions (namely packages containing the same programs on 180 Gram vinyl, CD and as a download) Undoubtedly there will be those who value these beautifully packaged esoterica. But, now that their edition of MARNIE has sold out, why can't there be an outright CD edition? (Unlike a 'privately' pressed LP from the early '80's, the original tracks in this case are in Stereo.) The same label has also dealt the same treatment to Frank Cordell's KHARTOUM. (Please note, the latter program is not only virtually complete, it constitutes the original tracks, as opposed to the re-recorded 40-minute program originally released as a United Artists LP and subsequently on CD by FSM.) Please, please, please, I don't want to be tempted to spend a lot of money on these so-called Super Editions!!!!
