At the time of the movie's theatrical release the album was released on LP and/or CD in Europe, Japan, Brazil and even Australia. It is the movie's 30th anniversary next year, perhaps we can expect the album to make its U.S debut at long last? Although the original album had a running time of less than 42 minutes (and this included 3 liturgical chants), there was even less music in the movie itself so not sure if there's a prospect of an expanded edition.

I'd be happy to get the album release on CD.
