Intrada Soundtrack Forum

It's nice to see Jaws sequels 3 and 4 soundtracks getting such deluxe treatments after all these years. It would be nice to revisit Jaws 2 as well. With the exception of one particular cue in the film, when Chief Brody discovers a body in the ocean, I can't think of any cues missing from the original soundtrack. They are just completely out of film sequence and many cues combined with other film sequences. So I doubt there would be much in the way of extras on a new release. However Jaws 2 has been out of print for some time and even though I already have the CD, I would definitely buy a fuller version and I would love to see the cues separated and put into a more chronological sequence as they appear in the film. Intrada seems to have been successful working out rights issues in the past with Varese Sarabande as in the release of Psycho II (and I'm still waiting for a CD release of a complete Psycho III soundtrack) maybe intrada could give of a more refined and complete soundtrack for Jaws 2.

This expansion will obviously be done if elements and clearances allow it.

It's worth pointing out that Varese had nothing to do with Intrada's release of Psycho II. That one came thanks to UMG and Universal Studios. Both entities would likely be responsible for licensing out an expanded Jaws 2, Psycho III, and so on.

Thanks for the info. I sure hope Intrada is able to release Jaws 2 and Psycho III (and Psycho IV, why not?) For the casual soundtrack collector such as myself, I think Intrada does the best at offering complete music scores. I know the movie Ghost Story was not considered great, but I would love to see a complete Ghost Story soundtrack as well. All the previously mentioned soundtracks on this post are my remaining holy grails.

There is more music than just the body in the ocean.

There are cues such as Brody looking out to sea; Jackie watching the Sea Witch take Mike back; "The Big Jolt" is considerably longer in the film than appears on LP/CD; There are also probably unused and alternates as well. Plus a remastering is due.

I think if there will be a Jaws 2 release - it will be bombastic and wonderful!

I couldn't agree more! As a Jaws and horro fan we must get a complete score for Jaws 2 and the original Jaws. Must own them too.
