Ok, this would be great, in the style of Commando: include John Parr's Restless Heart, plus the game show introduction music also known as "Paula's Theme". Current iTunes version is ok, but the tracks are out of order. This release would be great!

There is definitely enough justification to give this score the complete (or as complete as reasonably possible) and chronological treatment.

And yes, the addition of the endearing song "Restless Heart" would be an absolute must.

80s cheese at its most charming. :D

I could be wrong, but I don't think the film version of "Restless Heart" was ever released on CD.

These need to be released along with the missing cues, the running man show theme, climbing for dollars, paula's theme, end credit "sponsers" and most of all "Restless Heart (Film version)".

I'm sure there are more missing cues, but these are the ones most noticeably missing.

More Harold Faltermeyer music on CD is never wrong so I could imagine myself buying an expanded release of this one.

By the way on a sidenote regarding the movie itself. Did you know that before Paul Michael Glaser (the director) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (the star) was onboard there where other people who was supposed to do this movie. I have a book called The Films of Stephen King and in this book you could read that Andrew Davis (The Fugitive, Under Siege) was the original director and before Schwarzenegger was to star there was another actor, Christopher "Superman" Reeve.

I wonder if Davis hadn`t been replaced who he would have hired to score this movie? Probably David Michael Frank but that`s my guess.

Interesting info, Toby.

Despite not knowing how the alternative scenario would have turned out, I'm glad that things ended up the way they did. I find myself watching this film more frequently than most others in my collection, and I often go to the Varese CD. On top of being creative, Faltermeyer's score fits the tone of the film like a glove.

I wonder if the current iTunes release precludes a label like Intrada or LLL from giving this score the definitive treatment.

Hey TNewman,

The song "Restless Heart" is on a live compilation that John Parr put out called "Letter to America" and is also available in studio form on a 2CD imported hit compliation called "Man In Motion". Those are the only locations I know of.

The iTunes version is a direct rip from the existing CD, or at least the tracks are the same (and in same order). I know MV from LLL is a big Faltermeyer fan and has stated on the FSM board (a couple years ago) that he'd like to release both Fletch's, Top Gun and the first two BH Cops.

There's also the Main Title. I don't know what's on CD, but in the film Ron Grainer redid the opening title music.
