I wish I knew the business inner workings/nuances of how digital distribution actually worked versus physical media. The happy end result for me (as a consumer) would be for no normalization on the CD master for production of physical media, but the option for it in your first tier digital mainstream downloads, if that is where your primary source of revenue is. Then you have the niche HiRes Audio sites. Since I assume those in the know would have better access to those sales analytics, perhaps the Hi resolutions formants of HD Tracks and the like are just not profitable (also assuming you have the license to distribute digital content). After all, it because basic business - make the best product requiring the least cost and overhead.
I don't know - just brainstorming to find a way the everyone wins here.
