Wonderful that it is it's missing scores for 1 & 2

On the plus side, though, there's just enough room for two more album arts.

Please please PLEASE let definitive versions of Jaws 2 and Jaws be in the works at Intrada!!

I understand that JAWS and JAWS 2 are classic film scores, and they certainly deserve to be in print, but I as far as content goes, I don't see how the original Decca and Varese releases of the original soundtracks for I and II respectively can be improved upon?

As far as content goes, so far as we know, there isn't huge room for improvement. 1's sound quality on both the existing Decca AND the MCA soundtrack album (which is not usually mentioned for some reason), and availability of both films is the major impetus for finishing the series.

Yeah that's one way to get me NOT to buy something.

I agree that improved sound from better masters could improve on the Decca release of JAWS, and I'd probably be up for a 2-CD set containing both the original JAWS tracks as well as the original album cut remastered (though I hands down prefer the film presentation over the album presentation as far as listening goes). The Varese rerecording of JAWS sounds splendid, though, I don't think the original tracks will ever sound as good.

As far as JAWS 2 is concerned, it may not be complete (I don't know, haven't seen the movie in ages), but it is most certainly almost complete, and the presentation of the tracks is first rate (may not be chronological, but it is a very good listening). Sound is also pretty good for a release from those days.

Yes, ideally you'd have an SACD with the quadraphonic mix on the SACD layer and the stereo mix and stereo-downmix of the quad mix on the red book layer, but I can't see that happening unfortunately.

Or a DVD-Audio with the PCM stereo track (for a DVD Video player connected to a standard stereo receiver), the LPCM 4.0 track (for DVD-A players) and the DTS 24/96 in 4.0 as well (for a DVD Video player connected to a DTS receiver). That way, everyone who has at least a DVD Video player can enjoy this music !

So many possibilities and only one will exist : the good old Compact Disc.
