I'm having a Tiomkin western retrospective this week so on the (cd) turntable this week is:

The Big Sky (BYU)
High Noon (SAE)
Gunfight at the OK Corral (LaLa land)
Last Train From Gunhill (download)
The War Wagon (Intrada)
The Western Film World of Dimitri Tiomkin (Unicorn Kachana)
The Alamo (Tadlow)

This last one is of special interest because this is a superb recording of the complete score and regardless of your opinion of the actual film Tiomkin manages to invest the movie with a deep humanity that John Wayne tries too hard to achieve.
