Ok, I just watched "Prime Cut" and loved the score by Lalo Schifrin.




Btw, It would make an excellent pairing with another 70's score.

I grew up watching many great films from the 70's. Spent many hours at the drive in, my brother and I. Great films. Deliverance, Scarecrow, Lady Ice, The Town That Dreaded Sundown, The Hills Have Eyes, Taxidriver, Rolling Thunder, Walking Tall... on and on. I can usually find a score from any era that I really like but the 70's seem to me, offers some of the best. A lot of creative freedom emerged during that time that I feel has since dwindled considerably.

Just about anything from the 1970's released by Intrada is a buy for me if I'm able or near a computer to catch wind of it. Would especially like to see Walter Scharf's score for the original Walking Tall.

Yes, PRIME CUT is one of my top Schifrin grails, but it's barely under a half hour of music and would need to be paired with another Cinema Center Films Schifrin score, the now forgotten THE CHRISTIAN LICORICE STORE with Beau Bridges.

On the Universal Front, I hope Doug and crew might someday get around to such 70's Schifrin treasures as CHARLIE VARRICK and JOE KIDD. And, I still hope Lukas Kendall might someday dig out Schifrin's RAGE at Warner Brothers.
