Wow - that is hard. But knowing a thing or two about legalese - having worked with the Cable industry for a decade or so - it always changes and you just really have to be 'on it'. I feel sorry for the label and their mission to bring great scores to light, and how this implication could send ripple effects throughout an industry I really care about.

Overall, I feel the downfall of our creativity as a culture is our over-legalizing of everything. Do we really need 20 lawyers to tell us which way is up? I think we all know the answer. In our current society - 'yes'. (Should it be? That's a question for the lawyers and our 'free' and 'open' society to sort out in the coming decades)

But it is due to the perseverance of pioneers such as Intrada, Varese and FSM that these gates are being breached - to the benefit of all mankind (or thereabouts). I think younger labels can learn from their example - and really - the blame game should stay out of the public discourse - it strikes me as somewhat unseemly and a bit cattish.

I wish all involved the best of luck in sorting the whole mess out - and just keeping the wonderful film music coming - because in the end - the music enriches our lives. It takes us to places we have never been, and fills our lives with wonder.
