Happy Birthday.

Though he may be gone, his music and our memories will always be with us. Best wishes to his family, friends and his many fans.

The day, of course, will be Jerry Goldsmith Day on the stereo. Whether it be in the house, or in the car.

Thanks to all the companies, especially Intrada, who have continued with releases like PATTON and FIRST BLOOD (to name a few). The love for this man and his spectacular music lives on.

We miss you Jerry

He remains very much missed as ever. There is no one to match his brilliance. So we continue to enjoy his life time of music thanks to all of the labels.

Counting his TV scoring (obscure shows and rare pilots), aren't we now at about 55 to 60% of everything he's ever done, now on CD? Pretty amazing.

No, there's probably two dozen or more short-lived, obscue, and pilots for TV alone. Then unreleased films, rejected scores, and not to mention scores that need remastered, complete representations.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss the man and his music terribly, but I must confess, after looking at the similar thread over at the FSM board, it alludes me why people are WISHING him a "happy birthday"!!! Our beloved maestro has been dead for almost 7 years... nothing "happy" about it! A little rewording would make it more fitting!
Ironically, I haven't played the first Goldsmith score today, but will remedy that in a little while
