Hey guys, I'm sure you have already considered this, but I can't help but wish you guys would reissue Rent A Cop, this time with the lengthy action track edited from the original release. In light of the Runaway and Inchon sales, it's not even a question of if it would be a quick seller. I guess this real question is if the rights still lie with you, or if you think it would be a worthy endeavor. Just letting you know there are some out here that think it's a great score. (And I've always been curious about the action track...not enough to watch the film though. ![]() Respectfully, Michael |

I would buy a deluxe edition of Rent-A-Cop since I only have it on LP just like Runaway |

I have the old cd, It's not my favorite Goldsmith score but I do like the title theme. I would buy an expanded release, even a re-mastered re-issue of the existing tracks. Is there ANY doubt it'd sell out quickly? |

I might buy an expanded version, but then, I might not, depending on how much spare change I've got. Rent-a-Cop doesn't really do much for me, it's really a rather cheesy score, and not in a charming Goldsmith/Joe Dante way. Back at ya later |

I don't understand why people slam RENT-A-COP, It's a good one with some cool jazz and excellent action set pieces. The film is absolute garbage, but the score is pure gold. Expanded?? How much more of this score exists?? and talking about expanded reissues... RED DAWN deserves it more than ever now. Another maestro gone... |

And Les Miserables. And Starship Troopers. And Lonesome Dove. And both Free Willy scores (throw in Eidelman's while you're at it). Yavar |

Agreed: this may not be Goldsmith's most stellar effort. Yet, the 5'00 cue called The Bust is really good. Haven't listened to this score for a while now, but it must not have aged very well. The very late 80s were definitely a problem for Jerry. He really scored some truly appaling movies: Leviathan, Warlock, Lionheart, Criminal Law, Rent-A-Cop. |

I'd not wait a second and ordered Rent a copy immediatelly if it was around again either expanded or just a remastered reissue of the original CD ![]() |

Strange. I have more than once wondered why Jerry Goldsmith chose not to include certain cues on his releases. Apart from re-use fee issues, of course. I'm talking about "artistic" choices. Why would he not have wanted to include such a stand out cue. |
