For all this Elmer love, isn't it somewhat disheartening that we have yet to sell out of Fear Strikes Out/The Tin Star, seventy-eight minutes of classic and prime Elmer - incredible value for money and yet. We've sold about 1300 of the 1500 so I don't have a problem having the other 200 available for a while, but considering the quick sellout of Love With The Proper Stranger a year before at 1500, this one just baffles me. I guess the people collecting Elmer today ONLY remember his 80s work - pity that.

I'm torn on Slipstream but there's another Elmer Bernstein that I wish was still available at reasonable prices, and that's Spies Like Us. I really enjoy that score within the picture and I figure it might hold up outside of it. I just don't have the piles of cash necessary to sink ~$100 into the Varese disc. Hint hint to whoever's got some pull.

If I had the money, I would buy it, Bruce. Intrada keeps me drained though. Every two weeks doesn't allow for much love to the other labels, I admit, but Intrada... well--they're my baby.

When I first put the music, I was so thrilled by the sweeping orchestra of Bernstein, that I was shivering. I said to myself, Elmer has gone but his spirit certainly is here. The second thing I told me is : who can, today, write such a great SF score ? Elmer just had the greatness !

Whoever doesn't get it will definitely kick themselves latter. It's has been worth the wait on it believe me. Get it and enjoy it before you regret it. Then again there are other priorities too like Intrada as always. I hear they're awesome.
