Who would be the right composer for the upcoming Ridley Scott’s film
ALIEN: PREQUEL?

For me James Horner, Christopher Young or Michael Giacchino, in this order.

for the prequel I wouldn´t mind seeing Goldenthal get the gig again as he captured the loneliness and emptiness in space with is spaceoperetic music

My choices:

● Christopher Young

It’s a daydream! If we just consider Mr. Scott’s last choices for composers. But in the absence of Jerry Goldsmith, I always wanted to see what Christopher Young could make for the ALIEN SERIES. He is the one with the right language, able to write the dark-elegant-melodic-elegyatic music required for this kind of movie.

The new ALIEN ANTHOLOGY BOX-SET clarify many doubts I got about Goldenthal’s music. The isolate tracks show how much good music was unavailable to the public. I always like the music as presented on the MCA album, and found myself eager to see and expanded album in the mould of ALIEN: RESURRECTION. I still hope for it.

There are three scores which make me consider Marco Beltrami another right choice for the job: MIMIC (1997), I, ROBOT (2004) and KNOWING (2009). Listen to these scores together with ALIEN, ALIENS, ALIEN 3 and ALIEN: RESURRECTION and you know what I’m talking about! And he was a Goldsmith’s student. What a great opportunity to pay homage to the old master!?

Those are my daydream options.
