It may be the kind of score that is more suited for Varese Sarabande but I think it is brilliant and I would love to see it on CD. ![]() |

I bought the MCA CD, but I hated the presentation and the incredibly dated nature of the CD. Track listing 1. Just the Facts (04:18) Performed by Patti LaBelle 2. City of Crime (03:45) Performed by Dan Aykroyd, Glen Hughes, Pat Thrall and Tom Hanks 3. Dragnet: Danger Ahead/Dragnet March (03:01) Performed by The Art of Noise 4. Helplessly in Love (03:06) Performed by New Edition 5. Dance or Die (03:45) Performed by Dan Aykroyd and Pat Thrrall 6. This Is the City/Danger Ahead/Dragnet March Medley (02:08) 7. Looking for Muzz (01:18) 8. Pagan Tension (02:14) 9. Pagan Fight (01:46) 10. Dairy Apologies 11. Joe Gets Fired (01:24) 12. The Tank (02:47) 13. Dragnet End Credits (01:05) 14. Kill Me Instead (05:29) There's barely 20 minutes worth of actual score on here, which is a crime considering how much good stuff is in the movie. Joe Friday would be mortified. Now that Intrada has more access to Universal stuff I'd love for them to considering giving Dragnet a proper release. It's been 23 years already, we need this to happen. |

I saw most of NG33% on TV a couple or so weeks ago. Might be blasphemy saying so, but I think Newborn's music for the long parody scene at the buildigns steps (parodying "The Untouchables" sequence) is better than Morricone's effort. |

On top of orchestration, David Newman also provided additional scoring for "Dragnet", so -- another thing for Intrada to consider... |

Another annoying thing about the original Dragnet album is that the main title theme by the Art of Noise isn't the same as the version on the film - in fact it's nothing like it at all, so I'd like a proper quality version of that to go with Newborn's score (which is brilliant, I think) |
