The track from STAR TREK - THE MOTION PICTURE when the Enterprise arrives at V'Ger. There's some big music to be heard, complete with organ. I'd love to hear this one on CD one day! Another favorite: a cue from Williams' EMPIRE OF THE SUN. At the end, when Jim tries to resuscitate his Japanese friend, Williams contributes to the scene with a short but oh-so-wonderful choral cue. Pity it didn't make the CD, which reportedly contains 95% of the score! More later, maybe! Christian Leonard Rosenman (1924 - 2008) |

HELLBOY - so many great examples of unreleased cues belonging to the best parts of the whole 2 hrs+ score ![]() Not only film version of cues like Father's funeral or the final Kiss of HB and Liz Sherman but also music for Kroenen - whole about 4 minutes long flashback from the museum, opening the portal during prologue of the film, finale when Hellboy gets his horns and opens the portal again, fight between Hellboy and Samaels when Liz saves his ass with those stunning screaching strings is a particular standout. Or some more gentle moments variating Hellboy's secondary theme: Pure of Heart piece (http://lokutusost.ufouni.cz/filmmusic/b ... _Heart.mp3) or HB's secondary theme's full orchestral treatment at the end of end credits suite, etc, etc, etc... ![]() ----------------- FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX - return from the desert cue that opens with an ethnic flute and then keeps growing when the pilot returns with a missing guy and comes to the rest of the survivors. ------------------ CURSED - great score completely unreleased wouldn't probably count but there is a promo version that also doesn't feature finale version of the love theme from the end of the film. ------------------ DEEP WATER The cue when the main character goes back to his office at night. It's a beautiful piece that sadly was not included on the promotional CD ![]() or also Deep Water cue that start as soon as the first dead body is revelead (shot) and then segue into Sunday driving cue which is also great but pretty far from the opening third of the whole film version. I asked Marco if he had this cue and might post it on his site but he replied he doesn't have any masters for this score ![]() ================= To go little deeper into past what about the piece in STAR TREK II when Terell commits suicide to have a control over his actions so he wouldn't kill Kirk based on Khan's command? |

Ah, here's another one: Department Store chase from GREMLINS. Granted most of that score is unreleased, but that one continues to resonate with me. |
