Hi Roger, thanks for the list of SPELLBOUND reviews. Very impressive. I must say this CD is superb in every way and is a privilege to own. Apart from the wonderful performance the presentation is probably the best I've ever seen for a film soundtrack release. Well done and thank you Intrada. |

Yep! This is a phenomenal release. I can't understand this small number of naysayers who enjoy tearing to shreds such an historic recording. The Spellbound concerto, as good as it is, is no substitute for this complete recording of one of the seminal scores in the Rozsa canon. This is one recording to be savored slowly, because every listen seems to bring something new. I really hope Intrada will be able to treat with other recordings such as this one. Keep em' coming! Have you ever considered a brand new recording of Elmer Bernstein's splendid score for Summer and Smoke? I know the movie is not a classic like Spellbound, so it might not be vastly marketable but this is an absolutely gorgeous score from Elmer Bernstein's richest period. And one almost dreams of a complete Spartacus... |

I'm not making fun - translation's not easy - but I wonder how Rózsa would've liked being called a type-setter? |
