By limiting the CD releases, if someone new comes in and sees that a score was released, where do they have to find it? EBay for $200? That would be a major turn off to the point of giving up. We need the new kids coming in! Us old farts will die with our libraries and the newbies won't know what good music is because they will only know Remote Control! |

Do you think it was actually funnier in the 90's when you had to visit every store you knew only to find a single very common 30 minutes long disappointing Varèse album you paid too many $$ for... ? If collecting soundtracks is not fun anymore (for some people), this is because we are so spoiled now. More, more, more. |

Yes, I remember those college days where the day of release had come and I would leave 1 hour early to stop by the 7 record stores next to campus. If they were not out yet, after classes I would reverse the route to find them. Then you have the flyers from Intrada, a list of new releases, an order form that you sent in and had to wait 2 weeks for it to arrive!! I miss the hard copies of FSM (I do not subscribe to FSM online, I have to save the money for CDs), where there was a whole page of nothing but what the composers were working on and what titles the labels were working on, now we have the guessing game!! So much fun to get excited about a title to be released only to find out that everyone was wrong for the first 5 pages of guessing! But, the main thing I miss is back then there were more new releases, now it seems that over 75% are re-issues, or remastered! Bring on the unreleased scores! |

Poltergeist, First Blood, Gorky Park, Link, A Bridge Too Far, Clash Of the Titans, Patton, the Star Treks, Casino Royale, Carrie, The Great Escape, Solaris, Home Alone, The Batmans, the list goes on and on. Let's not forget Kritzerland and their re-issues of re-issues. Yes, we got 48HRs, Jade, River Of No Return, and a few others, but the re-issues out number the not ever released! |

LMAO!!! Well, if you're ONLY gonna list recent reissues then OBVIOUSLY you've proven your case beyond all shadow of a doubt. Record labels, BOW your heads in SHAME!!! Startracks has cunningly sniffed out your devious plan to.... Uhhhmmmm.... Not too clear on this, actually. Perhaps he'll be so kind as to elaborate? |

IMHO, I like reissues for several reasons: - I was a kid in the 90ies so I couldn't get the scores I truly wanted before they were sold out (Darkman, The Shadow, Conan expanded, etc...) so it's good to finally be able to get them. - A vast majority of the previous editions were incomplete or flawed (ex: Predator 2 or Starship Troopers definitely need an expanded edition) so there's a lot of room for improvement (2010 was amazing on that account : Predator, Conan, Batman and Batman Returns, Clash Of The Titans, Robocop and so on..) Unreleased scores are great but so are reissues.. |
