Well it's a nice recording, I'm glad I ordered a copy. The cover art is great. Bought a vinyl Varese Sarabande pressing in Florida a few years ago and will cherish that as well as this disc. A nice addition to the various Jerry Goldsmith scores I have purchased over the years and I'm not someone so obsessed that I need to acquire every friggin' thing that comes down the pike, this was just too good to pass up. ![]() |

I don't particularly care for it when titles sell out this quickly. If we did 3000 I'm sure we would have moved 1500 instantly and another 700 might trickle out over a couple of years. But with 2000 which is right for the market, there is a pressure element that is induced which pushes some to buy it. From a business perspective if I had to choose between sitting on 800 copies or moving things a little quicker than I'd like (although I am a bit surprised), I'd have to go with the latter. Frees up capital and space to drive forward. |

Like THE GREAT ESCAPE, I don't have the (very expensive!) Varese version of this soundtrack, and so I am very pleased to see this release happen ![]() Now, if INTRADA are going to continue to re-release some Varese titles?, can I please suggest a re-release of: DIE HARD - if it is at all within your reach?, as it is another soundtrack that falls into the same category of: expensiveness, and being much sought-after and requested (and I don't have a copy of it! ![]() ![]() CHEERS! |

Yeah, I expect re-releases of Die Hard, The Sand Pebbles, & The Towering Inferno this year, & why not. Fans get the soundtrack that they couldn't afford before, the record labels make a bit of money, everyone wins. I'd also love the expanded Lethal Weapon, but that was released on Michael Kaman's own label, & I don't know if that complicates things. |
