This is certainly a release I look forward to. However I am also curious about the main title (see Stefan Sschlegels post above). What happened with the choral parts as heard in the film? Anybody? Regards, Mike |

I've ordered this release since I recently watched the film in a theater in Paris on Christmas Day. The score contains really nice and strong action moments. As several members on this board and at FSM asked, I'd like to know what happened with the orchestral and choral parts of the Main Title: why are they missing? (is it due to elements not available? did someone forget them? are they in bad condition?...) If Doug, Roger or anyone involved in the production of this album could give an explanation, I think it should be truly appreciated. |

I think they were left off to irritate everyone. Obvious, really. |

Sadly there is still no reply to our question from Intrada yet. Maybe it's not allowed to discuss this release in particular because of contractual reasons? Or maybe they just got the masters as it appears on the cd and simply put it out without going into the details... Of course this is just speculation on my part... Mike |

Exactly, Basil. You answered your own question. In those cases where the cues seem to contain all elements, then all named composers contributed to a piece of it. In some instances, just a few bars each as these "arranged cues," which is in fact what they really are, were put together by orchestrators borrowing bits from the available themes and "motifs." |

Henry Mancini tells of co-composing so many low budget Universal International film scores with Herman Stein back in the early 50's. One would take the first half of the film, the other the second half. |
