A year and a half or two ago, I accidentally stumbled upon the movie Cocktail (which at first I did not really like). But I noticed that in the credits of the film, the composer was J. Peter Robinson (by that time I had already had time to get acquainted with his music). I liked the album from La La Land Records label with its music for the TV series Charmed. Then I watched the film Blind Furry and Robinson's music made a very pleasant impression on me (I won't being modest - I was completely delighted with this music score!) But, as you know, this soundtrack was never released ... ( And we can say that my love for the music of J. Peter Robinson began with this soundtrack. I really liked his musical style and his beautiful and competent introduction of synthesizer and orchestral music. So, back to the Cocktail. Having watched the film carefully again, I found not only beautiful songs in the film, but also insanely beautiful original music with frequent use of an electrononic guitar, piano, violin. From that moment on I am a fan of this score! I watched the film many times and realized more and more how valuable this soundtrack had become to me! I really like how Robinson has brought drama and lyrics to this music. It amazes me even more that the composer wrote this score in a very short time. ( in more detail in this interview: http://www.filmzene.net/read.php?u=inte ... glish.html ) Although there is not so much original music in the film (only about 15-20 minutes) I think this release is worthy of release! Moreover, the album can be supplemented with previously written music by Maurice Jarre (his music was eventually rejected). I would also be interested to hear what he wrote. Although I sadly realize that this release may not come out ... Since 1) there is not enough material for the release 2) the recordings may be lost 3) for commercial reasons. I wrote to La-La Land Records, Music Box Records, BSX Records about the idea of releasing this soundtrack, but they ignored ... And the Notefornote Music label said that it was quite a good proposal and they would think about what they can do. I loved this score very much. And I never stop dreaming and hope to see this release someday ... |

If this score ever gets released then I guess they will probably also include Maurice Jarre`s unused score so they can fill up the CD. |
