This could make a worthwhile boxed set. If one takes the period from 1960 to his death, there are 3 LP programs which (to my knowledge) have not been transferred to CD: BACK STREET, SHENANDOAH and MADAME X. In addition there a number of scores which have hitherto been unreleased (such as THE UGLY AMERICAN, THE APPALOOSA and CAPTAIN NEWMAN M.D.) Add to this that Skinner has been a somewhat neglected composer awaiting re-evaluation. |
