Basil Poledouris wrote one of his best scores for "The Blue Lagoon" in 1980, probably one of the most beautiful scores ever. The score was available on CD at one time, now out of print and sells for mega bucks. I'm thinking a re-issue of that great score is needed.

While I've not seen "Return to the Blue Lagoon", I've heard some bits and pieces of Poledouris' score and it's just as wonderful as the other. This score hasn't seen the light of day on any type of release except bootlegs. An official premiere release of this score would be greatly appreciated as well.

Releasing them on CD together would be excellent.

An excellent proposal. My only fear is about the less than satisfactory music archiving at Columbia Pictures. RETURN is certainly a more richly textured, darker score than the original. (in other words, it's not a case of recycling the original score.)

Sounds like a Great double cd release to me. Let us keep our fingers crossed.
