With last year's official release of the movie on DVD, could we expect an expanded music edition? Although the 1998 Varese version had a generous (almost) 65 minutes playing time, there's still at least another 40 minutes of unreleased music. (The actual mixing from the Fox elements was done over 20 years ago, so likewise the benefits of advances in audio restorative technology would make another attraction for a new edition.) I really don't need to exhort the wonders of this music: it's simply one of the towering classics from the Golden Age!

As with far too many scores, I believe it was confirmed on the FSM board that Varese controls this in perpetuity. While it's possible they may decide to expand it, I sure wouldn't hold my breath.
